Reading: Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. This book is so, so good. I bought the kindle version because I wanted to read it right away. I’ve highlighted so many passages.  My favorite so far..

…”Bring forth what is within you, then, whether it succeeds or fails. Do it whether the final product (your souvenir) is crap or gold. Do it whether critics love you or hate you–or whether the critics have never heard of you and perhaps never will hear of you. Do it whether people get it or don’t get it.”

Watching: The Story of God with Morgan Freeman. I’m fascinated by religions and belief systems around the world. Plus, Morgan Freeman. I could listen to him all day. 

Eating: Fried eggs with rotel & green onion.

Drinking: Coffee with almond milk and honey. Trying to give up my beloved french vanilla creamer in favor of something healthier.

Cooking: Going to try this chicken pot pie from the Pioneer Woman. I love Ree. And she’s never let me down on a recipe before. *Update: Ended up trying the recipe from her book instead..love it. I edited the recipe a bit because I like my sauce thicker. The pie crust wasn’t my fave but it was still really good. 

Making: homemade ice cream, oh man, oh man. This stuff is to die for. I’ll be making more. I doubled the vanilla for this recipe-using both vanilla bean and vanilla extract. Holy crap. Try it. It’s so easy. 

Loving: all the flowers blooming in our yard! I can’t wait to see how my seeds do this year….I’ve got lots of flowers going in the garden. I bought peony, zinnias, sunflower, lavender, echinacea, petunia, chrysanthemum, hydrangea, larkspur, painted daisy, marigold, and bee & butterfly mix. 

Planning: our garden. We planted most of our starts over the weekend, and I’ve still got to plant the rest of our seeds. (And there are a ton!)

Wanting: to cast on the the Tule sweater from Knit Picks. I bought the yarn for it last year but haven’t started it yet (fear of working with lace yarn!) This sweater is so lovely, I just need to go on and do it!

Listening to: this celtic music sampler & Elise’s podcasts….LOVE! I just discovered her through instagram and I’m so super inspired!
