Christmas Fun Wishlist
Every year I make our bucket list of things to do during the holidays. It includes movies we want to watch, things we want to do, places to go. If you’re in need of some winter time inspiration, here’s our list to help you get started having fun this holiday season!
Here’s a list of movies we want to watch:
- A Charlie Brown Christmas
- Elf
- The Polar Express
- Flintstones Christmas
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas (my fave!)
- The Santa Claus
- Frosty the Snowman
- And last but not least, and also not a movie, but the Christmas episode of the Andy Griffith Show is just so good. Brings me to tears every time! If you have Netflix, it’s Season 1, Ep 11 “A Christmas Story”.
Things we want to do:
- Go looking at Christmas lights. Fun tip: make hot chocolate before you leave, and put in a nice insulated cup, and bag up a few of your favorite Christmas cookies. Turn on the holiday music and go!
- Make a gingerbread house. I buy this kit from Aldi every year.
- Go watch our local Christmas parade & tree lighting.
Things we’re cooking:
- This spiced apple butter recipe, but using these instructions for canning.
- More of this jalapeno jelly. This recipe is so good! This time I’m making a milder batch for those friends who don’t like the hot version. Side note….I love Mel’s blogs. Her step by step pictures are so helpful for newbies! If you haven’t already, check her out!
Baking:
- Pies on repeat around here! I’ve made four apple pies, one cherry pie, and lots of little mince hand pies. This crust is now my favorite. I’ve tried many pie crusts, but I like mine to have flavor, and this one is buttery and perfect. This is also from Mel in the list above. Told you she was awesome!
- Trying this recipe for Gingerbread Swirl Fudge. Doesn’t that sound amazing? Sally is another of my favorite bloggers. Her recipes are always so good!
- Gingerbread cookies and Christmas Macarons
Hope you get a few new ideas and are having fun making holiday memories!
